As someone who's been listing/logging/tracking since the late 2000s I'm loving the turn social media1 is taking. I love data. I ditched Excel files almost a decade ago, I had a MySQL database somewhere, now I just rely on websites that may disappear tomorrow or have an outage anyday and lose days of logged things (I'm looking at you trakt). I'm maybe a few years late, but I'm ready for a new chapter of the internet.

so, my selfish wishlist to store everything I have accumulated over the years includes, but is not limited to:

  • somewhere to log my owned/consumed medias (tv, movies, books, video games, etc)

  • somewhere to log my attended concerts/gigs

    • link to setlist.fm?

  • somewhere to log my listened music (I have 20 years of data - deliver me from last.fm pls) -- teal.fm might be the answer

  • a (private) genealogy thingy? I had a webtrees at some point, so useful for family stuff

mostly right now, I'm annoyed at popfeed for lacking23 so much, I had such hope

sites where my data is still living:

  • listography - mostly stopped 2019

  • plex (would love to use webhooks more!)

  • betaseries - active manually and via webhooks

  • trakt → serializd

  • letterboxd

  • goodreads → storygraph

  • last.fm - panoscrobbler is a lifesaver for webradios

  • fitbitgoogle health

And I realize now that I'm writing all this, that I'm probably skilled enough to import everything myself on a PDS, but let me be a bit lazy for now, okay.

As I deep dive atproto, I have found that online communities are working4 together for a consistent book lexicon, I cannot wait for what's to come!
